Perla del Este Apartments

Perla del Este offers excellent access to all that White Sands and Bavaro, Dominican Republic have to offer.

Another new property that is being re-done and re-introduced to the market over in White Sands in Bavaro, Dominican Republic. We had recently driven over there, and although the back 9 holes of the White Sands golf course needs quite a bit of work, the front 9 is looking better than ever. You can see that they are finally making an attempt to revitalise this area.

Credit card had a 79.9% APR from First Premier Bank - Yahoo! Finance

Toni Riss had a credit card with a 79.9% interest rate.

The 58-year-old woman from Texas thought she struck gold when she found the First Premier card, which is aimed specifically at consumers with poor credit.

"I had an accident on a motorcycle, went through bankruptcy to pay for medical expenses and my credit went to hell in a hand basket, so I was looking for credit cards for people with bad credit" Riss said.

They granted her a card with a $300 limit -- typical for new customers -- and a starting rate of 29.9%, which Riss said she considered decent given her credit score.

But about six months after opening the card -- at the end of 2009 -- she received an unwelcome surprise in the mail.

"I about had a heart attack when I got a disclosure notice saying that my starting rate of 29.9% was going up to 79.9%," said Riss. "It was ludicrous. Talk about a highway robbery."

Reminds me of a great article just posted here at http://bucharestexpat.com/2011/02/banks-friend-or-foe/ Yes of course I agree that people should be adults and recognize the benefits and pitfalls of such a high interest rate card, however it also doesn't take a genius to know that the bank is SCREWING people by switching around the clients rates behind their backs. I think we all know banks lie and swindle!

Banks. Friend Or Foe?

We had a recent discussion amongst the Bucharest Expat team about the banking profession, and it turns out that we all grew up believing that bankers were to be respected and trusted. Over the year this illusion has been increasingly eroded to the point where none of us have any faith in it (the ban

Bob Marley In Bucharest, Romania - Bucharest Expat

Buchexpat went round to the El Negro studio last week to listen to the rehearsals for the Bob Marley evening, and to meet the guys again, and I have to say, they were excellent!!

In fitting with the theme, I only seem to be able to find Bob Marley photos that would suit our site if all our readers are potheads. Oh well... going for a great look anyways.

Bucharest To Amsterdam Road Trip - Bucharest Expat

From B to A… Expat Style. The conversation between the Bucharest Expat team and a friend of ours went something like this: Anyone interested in joining me for a road trip? Where are you going? Amsterdam. What are we driving? An Audi TT. I’ll be packed in five minutes. When do we leave???

After the initial enthusiastic reaction, the real world arrived with one or two minor concerns about the distance, Romanian roads and the possibilities for bad weather but this did not deter. The planning process was brief (which route and where to stay which turned out to be interdependent) and one very recent Friday evening we set off for Venice of the North.

I am thinking that we road test an old Dacia 1310... why the heck not? It is the stereotypical Romanian thoroughbred... may as well see what happens!

Allan S. Lolly & Your VISA Fears Come True? - Bucharest Expat

Programmer - It is good that you are friends with Mr. Lolly and vouch for him. I have many friends that will vouch for me also. It is good to finally here the absolute truth about this business, that is so reassuring. I also don't question his knowledge related to family visas, I simply put in to question his business practices and the way he handles his customers (yes there are many unhappy customers out there with similar issues)

There are a ton of complaints out there on this firm... I see I am not the only one with big problems in dealings with Allan S. Lolly! Check this one out too... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110102102459AAAQlN6
